Australian magazine CarExpert says there is a guy inside who has seen the new Ranger Raptor and looks like this. The front end’s appeal is undeniable, sturdy, and far more modern, with a C-shaped LED headlight wrapped around the grille.
As you probably know, the front of the Ranger has hints of the 14th generation Bronco and F-150 that just came out. The center is unimpressive, except perhaps for the flared fenders, while the rear features some great tail lights and bedding.
CarExpert also confirmed that the engine of choice for the Ranger Raptor 2022 is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost.
Introduced in 2015, the ‘Nano’ was offered on the F-150 and many other FoMoCo vehicles, typically producing around 330 horsepower and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.
That’s a pretty big improvement over the current model, and more power might be available for the pickup performance.
Turning our attention to another corner of the world, we learned that Australia would have two engines in the next generation Ranger diesel units, the 2.0 and 3.0-liter turbocharged ones. Did any of them come to the United States? It’s hard to say at this point.

The VIN displayed on the screen corresponds to the Ranger 2021 (being the 2022 model in the United States) powered by a 2.7 liter V6 EcoBoost engine that spins all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Although six outputs are not listed, the publication believes Ford will use two turbochargers to produce 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
In comparison, the current Ranger’s 2.3-liter turbo-four makes 270 horses and 310 pound-feet of revs, while Hennessey’s limited edition VelociRaptor raises these figures to 360 and 440, respectively.
Elsewhere, the Raptor will get a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder or 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine.
Ford is not against the idea of putting an oil burner in the pickup, as the 14th generation F-150 will be available again with a V6 turbodiesel, but there’s nothing to suggest our version of the Raptor will offer anything but gasoline-powered. machine.
Like the F-150, the Ranger Raptor will receive a long list of desert-taming modifications such as Fox suspension, bigger tires, skid plates, and a stronger frame.

Ford is keeping its lips closed when it comes to the next generation Ranger, so it’s still not ready to talk about whether a Raptor model will eventually join the lineup.

Fans in the United States rejoiced when a few years ago news broke that the compact – well, now mid-sized – Ford Ranger was returning to the American market.
The enthusiasm was somewhat diminished when we learned that the Ranger we were going to get was a reworked version of the truck that has been abroad since 2011.
The 2019 Ranger (pictured above) is now finally on sale, and even though it is old. basic and stylish, this is a competitive truck that has never been called.
But just weeks after the new Ranger hit dealerships in the United States, we’ve got our first look at the next-generation Ranger, which will debut in 2021 as the 2022 model.
The windows are darkened and some of the surfaces are slightly tilted, leading us to believe that this is a clay styling mockup.
Now, this could only be one of the few style proposals that Ford hasn’t decided on, but we don’t think that’s the case for several reasons: First, it’s close enough to the next Ranger debut that the design should be almost finished now (if not already), and secondly, the details on this truck look very thought out and production-ready.
And the fact that the truck was spotted in Melbourne also gives credence to the truck’s authenticity; The current Ranger T6 is designed and engineered by Ford Australia, so it makes sense that the Australians at Ford will have at least some share in the next-generation model.
If these photos show the last thing that is real, it won’t be a mistake that the next-generation Ranger is a Ford. At the front, the truck has two large chrome bars that bisect the rectangular grille, like those found on the F-150 and Super Duty pickups.
The thin C-shaped headlights wrap around two bars, and there are square fog lamps on the bumper. The hood is much more aggressive and clear than the one on the current Ranger, and that’s like Super Duty too.

The overall styling of the truck’s sides is as yellow as the front, with a boxy fender flare reminiscent of a 1980s rally car, not the overly rounded fenders that the current Ranger has.
The surface is generally much softer compared to the Ranger ’19, with non-horizontal creases and lines kept to a minimum. The vertical vents in the fenders look like those of the “Baby Bronco” crossover that leaked late last year.
In the hindsight, the changes are more evolutionary. The rear doors have lost the stamped “RANGER” inscription, the Ford oval has moved higher (like the rear door handle), and the taillights are a little thicker and more intricate.
On closer inspection, the rear bumper looks the same as the current Ranger – Ford could have used the built-in bumper for this model, or the production truck might have some spare parts built-in.

The outlet also features a 2022 Raptor image. The truck will use LED headlights, which are complemented by Daytime Running Lights as well as taillights. It can also benefit from the Matrix LED multi-beam headlamps.
It was previously reported that the Ranger’s taller trim will receive a 12.8-inch portrait infotainment screen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Perhaps, the Raptor will accept the same.
This could be similar to a vertically stacked touchscreen running on the SYNC4 system as seen on the new Mach-E. The conventional instrument cluster is interchangeable with a fully digital display.

2022 Ford Ranger Specs
Currently, the US-spec Ranger comes with only one engine option – the 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that makes 270 horses and 310 pound-feet of torque.
This factory is mated with a 10-speed automatic gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheels as standard, but you can also have it in all-wheel-drive mode. The Ranger is also equipped with a locking rear differential and independent front and rear suspension.
As for the Ranger Raptor, it’s powered by an under-the-hood 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that makes 213 ponies and 368 pound-feet of revs. Power is sent to the wheels via the same 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Ranger Raptor is bent on a straight road as it takes 10.5 seconds to reach 60 mph from rest. This figure is far from impressive, indicating that the focus of the truck is purely on off-road.

2022 Ford Ranger Engine
Unlike today’s trucks, the next Ranger will be completely new from the start.
