The V6 model offers more power, making short merges and on-ramps more enjoyable, and it can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 7.3 seconds, which is respectable considering its large tires and four-door layout.
When braking hard, the Bronco experiences a significant amount of nosedive, which is typical for off-road SUVs. However, the emergency stopping distances were longer than ideal, with a panic stop from 60 mph taking 146 feet, a distance normally associated with heavy-duty pickup trucks.
It’s worth noting that the test vehicle had the Sasquatch off-road package with rugged tires, but even other Broncos with less aggressive tires stopped only 10 feet shorter, which is still longer than preferred.
The Bronco’s steering is one of its strongest features. With an independent front suspension, the steering wheel provides a sense of assurance and steadiness when driving at highway speeds. While it may not offer many thrills on winding roads, drivers will appreciate the fact that the steering won’t tire them out during long trips.

When getting in and out of the Bronco, similar to other off-road vehicles, it may require a decent step up or down, but there are many grab handles located throughout the cabin to aid in this process.
While we would prefer front grab handles on the windshield pillars instead of the dashboard, the current placement works in a pinch.
The driver’s seat and steering wheel have generous adjustment ranges, ensuring that all controls and gauges are easily visible. We like the large physical controls, as their size and placement make them easy to operate when wearing gloves.
The Bronco’s interior feels spacious due to the ample headroom. This spaciousness extends to the rear seat, even in two-door models, although accessing those seats in the two-door Bronco can be cramped since the front seats don’t move forward enough.

The Bronco, although not luxurious, is more comfortable on the road than its direct competitor, the Jeep Wrangler. Its seats offer better support and various adjustments to reduce fatigue during long highway drives.
The vehicle’s construction, which is based on a truck, results in a ride that is somewhat stiffer and bouncier than other SUVs, but not enough to detract from the driving experience.
The available dual-zone climate control is effective and allows you to adjust the auto setting’s intensity, and the heated front seats warm up quickly, which is helpful if you have the doors off on a chilly day.
However, the removable hardtop causes a significant amount of wind noise at any speed, which affects Bronco’s score in this category. During off-road testing, several rattles and vibrations were also noticed.
To assist drivers, the Bronco has standard and optional driver’s aids, such as exterior cameras and adaptive cruise control. However, the Bronco’s infotainment and connectivity software are up-to-date and are easy to use with Android and Apple smartphones, whether you opt for wired or wireless connections. The sound system in our test vehicle struggled to overcome road noise while driving on the freeway.
The Bronco is larger than the Wrangler, resulting in a more spacious interior with greater cargo capacity. However, the four-door Bronco has slightly less space than the similarly sized Toyota 4Runner.
The rear swing gate opens to the passenger side and stays in place thanks to a strut. The rear glass on hardtop models folds up effortlessly, but the soft top doesn’t open as wide and requires a prop rod to stay up.

The other option is the Bronco Everglades, which takes the Sasquatch package as its base and adds features intended to enhance its ability to wade through water, such as raised axle air vents, a snorkel, and a built-in Warn winch.
It’s expected that the 2024 Bronco will offer the same engine choices as before. These include a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 275 hp and 315 lb-ft of torque on regular gas, or 300 hp and 325 lb-ft on premium.
